Villa Borghese, Pinciana. A breathtaking art gallery it is not only the masterpieces of art, like sculptures, paintings, and even the furniture that make this Villa. The villa is a masterpiece in itself. When you enter you do not know what to look at. The floors, the ceilings, the walls or sculptures, paintings, or furniture. You will find this problem at many tourist spots in Rome, but this place is summing it all up. I am happy to show you some of the presented art, hoping that will make you visit the museum one day.
In 1807, Prince Camillo Borghese sold 695 pieces of art, to the French State under Napoleon Bonaparte. Many of these pieces are now displayed in the Borghese Collection in the Louvre. Today, we can only imagine the size and beauty of original art collection of Borghese villa.
