by weekend

St. John’s Hospital in Bruges proves that centuries-old heritage and modern art can go hand-in-hand. The 12th century building is one of the oldest hospitals in Europe and houses a wealth of art. The hospital contains such works as six original pieces by Flemish Primitive Hans Memling, including the famous St. Ursula Shrine. Memling’s oeuvre had a great impact on the innumerable artistic generations that came after him. Director Eva Tahon tells you all you need to know about Hans Memling and modern art.
