Paciotti salumeria is the number one gourmet food shop in Rome. It’s a family owned store, owned by Father Antonio and his three sons; Stefano, Roberto and Luca. Since 1970 they have been satisfying the locals, with the best food Italy has to offer.
Here you will find all types of cheeses, cured meats, olive oils, aged balsamic vinegar, truffles and fine wine. Paciotti has been consistently been voted the best food shop in Rome on the website TripAdvisor.
It is one of the favorite venues on The Roman Food Tour, with Stefano Paciotti entertaining the crowd with his humor and catchphrases. Cheese tastings on the tour include a 30 year aged balsamic vinegar, drizzled over Parmigiano Reggiano, pure black truffle pate spread over a mild Asiago cheese, as well as a sweet gorgonzola.
Cured meats tastings include prosciutto di Parma, Cinta senese and San Daniele.
Sommelier Roberto picks out a well paired fine wine for us.
