Although there were many moments that didn’t go as planned during our visit to Regensburg, we had some tasty bites to eat along the way. We were really hoping to eat all authentic German dishes, but when one of the restaurants was closed due to sickness, we had to improvise and found another restaurant for breakfast. Shortly after, we headed to Dicker Mann to dive into some more authentic dishes that are enjoyed in the region. The creamy pumpkin soup, and hearty Tiroler Grostl were especially delicious on this snowy January day!
Even though the Tiroler Gröstl is originally an Austrian dish, it’s commonly enjoyed in many parts of Bavaria (Southern Germany). If you watched our video at the Regensburg Christmas Market (https://youtu.be/i5ubC-pM1FQ) you saw we tried Gröstl for the fist time and were big fans. The Gröstl we ate in this video at Dicker Mann was a step above the other one and we loved the combination of the white cabbage and seasonings.
Be sure to let us know your favorite dishes that you’ve tried in Regensburg or other places in Germany!
