Length:
If you only have random GoPro (Hero 8) clips it is better to make your cinematic GoPro (Hero 8) travel video as short as possible. Like that you can choose the best clips of your random GoPro (Hero 8) footage and this guarantees you higher quality of your cinematic GoPro (Hero 8) travel video.
Story:
In a cinematic GoPro (Hero 8) travel video the story is as important as your shots. I show you in this video how you can make up a story with any GoPro (Hero 8) clips, so you can improve your cinematic GoPro (Hero 8) travel videos.
Variety:
To get a cinematic result the variety of your GoPro (Hero 8) footage is really important. I show you in the video a very specific example of a cinematic GoPro (Hero 8) travel video I made, where I forgot about this point. This should help you to prevent the same mistake I make and if you follow all the tips so far your GoPro (Hero 8) travel videos should have already gotten more cinematic.
Transitions:
Transitions are really important in cinematic GoPro (Hero 8) travel videos. However, if you only have random GoPro (Hero 8) clips it is very hard to make nice looking GoPro transitions. So a good trick to “replace” those transitions is using Time Lapses. You see that often in TV shows or movies that they use Time Lapses to transition form one place to another one and you can do that as well with your GoPro (Hero 8). This Time Lapse trick is really useful for your cinematic GoPro (Hero 8) travel videos.
Bonus:
Probably a lot of you guys not only own a GoPro, but also an other camera such as a DSLR or a drone. And of course you can also use footage made with other cameras as long as your GoPro (Hero 8) footage remains the main one. Using DSLR or drone shots can make your GoPro (Hero 8) travel videos look more cinematic.
